A Memorable Judging Experience in Rinatya, Israel
My judging appointment in Rinatya was one filled with anticipation and a touch of nervousness. I was set to judge alongside Joel Cordeiro, but I knew very little about him or his approach to judging Glosters. This uncertainty made me anxious - would we work well together? Would our styles align?
Thankfully, Haim Weizman, the founder of the Israel Gloster Club (IGC), reassured me that we would make a great team. He knew both of us well and was confident in our ability to judge fairly and professionally.
When I met Joel at the hotel, we took the time to have a proper discussion about how we would approach the show. Our goal was to ensure that every competitor would feel satisfied with the judging process and the results. Midway through our conversation, I already knew - this was going to be a fantastic day.
Joel turned out to be a true gentleman. What struck me most was his honesty and genuine nature. Our judging process was smooth, efficient and most importantly, enjoyable. We laughed, we collaborated and we ensured that each decision was made with fairness and integrity. By the end of the show, the exhibitors were pleased with the results and I had gained not only a great judging partner but also a new friend.
Looking back, this experience was truly special and I wouldn’t hesitate to judge alongside Joel again in the future. It was the perfect reminder that passion, respect and teamwork are what make the Gloster world so rewarding.
